Diver's Down/Cayman Diving College has
provided me quite a broad range of experience including handling
single engine, multiple engine & jet boats (I am still a novice
though), filling air tanks & running the air truck which fills
tanks for several area companies, guiding dives (already had
extensive experience in this area), running resort/DSD courses
(in the pool, from the shore & from a boat), running all sections
of the Open Water course multiple times, refresher, EFR, Rescue
Diver & divemaster courses. I also have been encouraging people
to try "Learn to Dive for Free" courses, where we then try to
convert those people into customers for DSD or Open Water Courses.
When I worked as a divemaster in Koh
Phi Phi (a great small island of about 4000 people) I took people
diving from all over the world. The common thing with them is
that they left with a smile on there face after my underwater
tour. Plus several of them came back for more diving the next
day!

I own my own business (www.genextsoftware.com
- Web Site Hosting, Web Site Design, Venture Capitalism, Business
& Internet Consulting), which has allowed me to work with employees
giving me unique insight to what an employer needs to be successful.
In my job at Lands' End as a computer
programmer I received 5 promotions in 6 years & was the first
person under 30 there to be a Senior Programmer Analyst (I was
still only 25). I attained this level because I did what was
best for the customers & the company. The skills needed to reach
that level included effective time management, always being
open to new challenges & constantly learning new skills, which
all apply to being a dive instructor as well.
