Australia - 2005-02-17 - 1 - Katoomba - Echo Point & 3 Sisters (Page 1)
Rodney & Charlene decided to explore Mudgee on this day, so it was just
my parents & I. We started the day by going to Echo Point which is where
you can see the 3 sisters (which were actually 7 sisters at one point).
My dad really took interest in the rock wall that had been laid for the
toilets. We saw several plants & trees on the first part of the lookout
before eventually seeing the 3 sisters. I went a little picture crazy
on them, but rocks are one of my favorite things to take pictures of (if
you didn't notice). There are 2 levels on the lookout so we explored both
of those first. After that we decided to do the walk to get to the 1st
sister. On that walk we saw several other new plants & some decent views.
When we reached the close lookout for the 3 sisters it switches from a
downhill walk to a really tough stair case that has a steep grade. Dad
& I did the last part to reach the 1st sister. The point also offered
some nice views of the surrounding area. It is interesting to see how
much the 1st Sister already has gone at the base. You can see why they
say at some point in the future non of them will be left. Then we did
the walk back up the track & got ready to hit the next tourist attraction
:)
