Australia - 2005-03-16 - 1 - Tasmania - Hobart to Queenstown Drive
After flying into Hobart, Tasmania really late on the 15th, I caught up
with Grant & we decided to try to find a car for the next day. After going
to the visitor information center I was able to get a 5-door Kia Rio.
Yes they count the "boot", AKA trunk in America, as a door in Oz. It was
an automatic with a large trunk so it met all my requirements. Although
it was a 4 cylinder so it was a bit of a dog on the hills. I dubbed the
car the "Killa Kia", because every car needs a nickname. The first picture
is of the car & my travel companion for the first 4 days (Grant from Pittsburgh,
US). The next group of pictures are of the first thing that we decided
was worth stopping to checkout, a huge log. The next pictures are from
points along the path we stopped to look at.
