Australia - 2005-03-26 - 2 - Hobart - Watermans Dock & Fountain
After taking the car back we met up at the market to look around. The
car rental gave me all of my deposit back & did not charge me for anything
so that was great. Especially considering I did not take the insurance
out to save money & that I put the car through so much. The Killa Kia
held up really well & even though it lacked power at time, I would say
it did really well. After the market I said my good-byes to Adrian & Claudia
& did a little walk of my own. The first thing I did was to go to Waterman's
Dock to get a picture of it for my family. It was the first thing on the
trip that I have seen named the same as my last name. After that high
excitement I walked by the beautiful fountain in the middle of town. That
was my last picture from the trip in Tasmania. It was really a great way
to spend the 11 days I was there. It is a really beautiful state, although
most people in Tasmania consider themselves as their own country (even
people from the mainland say this). It is more like New Zealand than Australia
(with the exception of the Aussie accent). It was remarkably beautiful
& anyone who gets to Oz should make time to go to Tasmania. I would recommend
3 weeks to do it properly & so that you don't have to drive all day like
I did.
