Australia - 2005-04-07 - 4 - Otway National Park - Wild Koalas
Otway has several attractions that make it worth visiting. One is the
lighthouse, however after to going to several free lighthouses, we found
out that they charge like $15 per person to see it. We decided we would
just check out some more free ones along the way. We also knew that there
was a part of the park where seeing wild Koalas was possible. So we found
out where this was and did some Koala hunting with our truck. I spotted
the first couple, which took us a little while, but after a few minutes
Adrian & I both were seeing several. After getting in the correct area
we walked around to see most of them. The pictures get better as you got
because originally we saw ones that were so high up & far away. As we
went we found ones that were closer to the ground & in more open places.
Koalas are very docile creatures, so you don't see much movement out of
them. We ate lunch on the beach, came back after 2 hours & none had moved.
Luckily I did catch one Koala moving places in a tree on film. I hope
you enjoy it :) We spent about 2 hours in all looking at Koalas, it was
so interesting to see them in the wild. Also pictures is a tree that looks
like it was bleeding which was an interesting picture.
