Australia - 2005-04-08 - 5 - Port Campbell National Park - Twelve Apostles (Page 1)
Getting to the 12 Apostles was not an easy task for us. After going to
Gibson steps we headed to the Twelve Apostles. We pulled into the 12 Apostle
parking lot when we saw the sign for helicopter flights, information center
& viewing platform. Although it appeared to be on the wrong side of the
road, so after looking around a little we figured that we must have to
go further down the road. After getting all the way to Loch Ard Gorge
& doing the activities there we figured that we must have missed it &
went back. This time we found the path leading under the highway to the
viewing platform :) In the end I was actually happy that it happened this
way because while we were at Loch Ard Gorge the weather got a little nicer
which made for better pictures at the 12 Apostles. It is worth nothing
that you can't see more than 7 Apostles at the viewing platform at once,
& some you can't see at all. That is how they sell the helicopter flights
:) The water was very clear & made the setting so perfect. We lingered
quite a while at this stop due to its peacefulness & beauty. It is worth
noting that I was not trying to be artistic with the last 3 shots of Page
2 (B&W), but one of the people I got to take pictures of me bumped the
button to this & I didn't notice it until later. Overall this was a great
stop & something everyone who goes to Oz should try to see.
