Australia - 2005-04-16 - 3 - The Outback - Extreme Camping, Sunset & Sunrise
After driving all day we decided that we should do a all out camping night
complete with sleeping outside, camp fire, roasted marshmallows, harmonics,
& star gazing. We found one of the few spots along the road with a few
old dead trees that would give us fire wood we needed and pulled off.
We then had to go about the task of setting up camp with hundreds of flies
around & at least 20 in your face at a time. I actually got one of my
bandannas out to use like the bank robbers due in the old movies. I used
to think people looked so stupid when they would wear something like that
in the old west. Now I understand the reasoning behind that :) Anyway
we had to basically break down some of the trees which was a lot of work
considering it was so hot. After that we got to work unpacking the car,
setting up camp, getting the fire started & getting supper made. After
eating we roasted some marshmallows over the fire, which tasted so good.
Then we sat back & enjoyed the wide open skies, which were full of stars.
It was even better later on when we could no longer see the moon. The
next morning I woke up to see the sunrise & got the last picture.
