Australia - 2005-04-17 - 2 - Outback - Drive & Sunset
Although we had originally planned to stay in Coober Pedy, the town really
didn't have much to do & we had pretty much seen what we wanted. So we
decided to make the drive the next day on ourselves easier & head towards
Ayers Rock. We were going to get to this one small town & stop fairly
early, but since it was a boring drive & we wanted to have the next day
to spend doing walks so we pushed through & ended up in Kulgera. We saw
lots of animals including kangaroos, wallabies, camels, cows & birds,
but luckily did not hit any of them. The place was basically a petrol
station & bathrooms, but it provided what we needed. On the way there
I took the pictures to show how boring the drive was & how beautiful an
outback sunset can be. All of the pictures were taken from the car, which
is actually fun because it presents an interesting challenge of balance
& waiting for open spots in the road.
