Australia - 2005-04-21 - 2 - West MacDonnell National Park - Mt Sonder Lookout
After Redbank we headed east on the gravel road until finally get back
on the "bitumen" (Aussie word for paved road, pronounced bitch-a-men).
It was nice because we knew the next part of the journey would be on paved
road, so we would get a break from the gravel road dust & driving. Also
when you drive in the outback, the red dust of the road gets everywhere.
Everything in the truck had a red tint & was completely filthy. The first
lookout of the day we saw was the Mt. Sonder Lookout, which was rather
nice. We could see lots of mountains from it, & every way you looked offered
you something interesting to see. It was a low level lookout, which also
is nice because it is easy to drive to.
