Australia - 2005-05-13 - Perth - Site Seeing with Sayoko
I had originally met Sayoko in Brisbane. We stayed at the same hostel
for a few days & went sight seeing one day. We had kept in contact after
the time there. She was interested in seeing the west coast of Australia
& to Darwin. Since Adrian did not want to go to the Top End (Around Darwin),
she decided to fly to meet me in Perth. Then we would travel in the 4WD
up the west coast & to Darwin. Although we decided to start our sightseeing
in Perth. I had just bought my new camera, which was really the same camera,
just a slightly different model. I really enjoyed some of the buildings
around Perth which is the reason for the first 2 pictures. The third is
Sayoko in front of the the theater. Pictures 4 & 5 are of the Barracks
Archway which was on our way to Kings Park & the Botanical Garden. We
had decided to pack a lunch & spend the day walking in the park & seeing
the sites. The park offered a great view of city & had its own natural
beauty. For instance check out the flowers in the second row of pictures
& the weird tree in the third row of pictures. Adrian & I had seen the
park when we were driving around the day before looking for someplace
to park for free (which we never found & had to pay the fee to the hostel
which was not cheap). Perth is a very beautiful city which perches on
the Swan River. Perth is the only big city in Western Australia & has
about 1.4 million people. The park is 400 hectares & is so peaceful, especially
considering it is only a mile from the city center. We stayed in the park
to watch the sunset, although sunset was not did not really produce. However,
I did take a few pictures of the city at night which turned out nice.
We then went back to the hostel & got ready for the next day since we
were going to Freemantle & Rottnest Island.
