Australia - 2005-06-13 - 2 - Litchfield National Park - Florence Falls Walk (Page 1)
The walk to Florence Falls was a nice walk in the forest with parts of
it along a river which is what fed the falls. We also did the shady creek
walk to get even more out of it. Along the way were mini waterfalls, forest
& rocks which made if interesting. The pictures of the falls start on
page 2. The falls were very impressive. There was spot where people were
cliff jumping from so I decided to do the same. It was a rush that I had
not felt in a while & the spot was great for it. While I was up there
at one point I met a German guy who I talked to for a while. I even practiced
a little German I knew, which was cool, had not spoke that since leaving
Perth. After a few jumps I got tired, because it was a difficult climb
& came back to Sayoko, who was back by the rocks. We then practiced here
floating kick. We started by making her kick for 15 seconds & working
up to over a minute before we left. The biggest thing she had to do was
relax, once she got that she was fine, she also practiced swimming for
a little bit, then we sat on the rocks & watched other people cliff jump.
There were so many people there, it was a shock to the system after being
without huge crowds for so long. It was still really enjoyable though.
After getting out & drying off we walked up around the falls to see them
from up above as you can see on the last 3 rows of the last page. It was
a really beautiful area & we had a lot of fun.
